Dean Desilet: Gentleman Wolf

One look at Dean Desilet doesn’t exactly strike a sense of animal awe. With his slight frame and warm smile, the buuteeq Strategic Accounts Manager more closely evokes the friendly, trustworthy Lassie than The Wolf of Mercer Street, the moniker his fellow buuteeqers recently gave him.

“I like that,” Dean said of the nickname, “It makes me laugh.” This understated reaction is typical of the man who, despite his unassuming nature, started this year by raking in the company’s highest sales revenue by one person in a single quarter.

And while Dean’s steel gray hair does match his inner Canis lupus, Jordan Belford he is not. Dean prefers truth over swindle. In fact, a large part of Dean’s success can be attributed to his honest-to-goodness belief in the buuteeq product.

“The buuteeq product is a win-win solution,” Dean said. “It’s great for everybody. The product absolutely helps our customers sell more of their inventory through their online channels.”

For this reason and more, Dean takes pride in spreading the word about buuteeq’s software. And considering he’s been with buuteeq since the company’s inception in 2010, Dean’s been able to witness both the creation and evolution of the product he holds so dear. According to Dean, buuteeq’s people provide the power behind its product.

“buuteeq’s people and its product are tied together,” Dean said. “The caliber of the team and the great talent that we continue to hire pushes the product to advance so rapidly. It’s been this way since the very beginning when I first met Adam, and that’s the best part of working at buuteeq.”

Clearly, Dean loves buuteeq. He also loves solving problems for prospective customers. Often, these problems aren’t obvious. And even though it seems counterintuitive, Dean’s favorite prospective customers are those who already have a strong website.

“I like working with the hotel that has a good-looking website,” Dean said, “and is already doing some of the things we recommend, using some best practices. I like those prospects best because they’ve put serious effort into their marketing. They care about it and they typically like to find ways to do even better, especially if they’re working in the agency model.”

In typical wolf fashion, Dean also enjoys the hunt for new ways of doing his own job better. “My goals for myself are to find ways to continue to go faster,” Dean said, “to work with bigger properties and property groups.”

“There have been so many new enhancements and features added to the product in the last year,” Dean continued. “Another goal of mine is to continuously learn about the product. This way, it’s easier for me to demonstrate product features that meet the needs of prospects so that they’ll see the fit and will want to become a part of the buuteeq family.”

How’s that for a gentleman wolf?
